Color/Winter Guard
The premier visual ensemble of the Carson High School. Our members master the use of flags, rifles, and sabres to provide a dynamic choreographed backdrop to the season's musical repertoire.

Color Guard

In the fall, the Color Guard performs in conjunction with the Blue Thunder Marching Band.

The Color Guard performs in several competitions, parades, and community events. This season begins early August and ends end of the year.

Winter Guard

This season features the Color Guard as their own program.

In this season, the Color Guard performs in a gym setting to a selection of music. This competitive season runs December-April

Winter Guard is an indoor color guard activity. Unlike traditional color guard, winter guard is performed indoors, usually in a gymnasium or an indoor arena. Performances make use of recorded music rather than a live band or orchestra. Winter guard ensembles perform at judged competitions officiated by local and regional associations using criteria developed by Winter Guard International (WGI). Rehearsals will take place on weekdays after school and select Saturdays.  Through performance the students will also learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, self-discipline, hard work, commitment, and sportsmanship.
