Blue Thunder Marching Band
The Carson High School Wind Ensemble is our premier instrumental organization.

Urgent: Let's Get Blue Thunder a New Trailer!

For decades, our equipment trailer has carried the sound of the Blue Thunder across the West. Today, it has reached the end of its journey. We are launching a dedicated campaign to purchase a modern, secure band trailer to protect our instruments and equipment for the next generation. This new trailer will feature a custom 'Blue Thunder' wrap, serving as a moving billboard of pride for our students and our city.

How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line

Direct Contributions: Every dollar donated to the "Trailer Fund" goes directly toward the purchase and custom wrapping of the new unit.

Corporate Partnerships: We are looking for lead sponsors who want their brand featured prominently on the new trailer wrap as it travels to regional competitions and national events.

Spread the Word: Do you know a local business owner who loves supporting the arts? Reach out and connect them with us! This is a rewarding opportunity to invest in the most visible asset of our program.

The Pride of Carson City

he Blue Thunder Marching Band is an elite, competition-based ensemble that serves as the face of the Carson High School music program. Combining athletic precision with musical excellence, the Blue Thunder performs at home football games, community parades, and regional field show tournaments. As back-to-back AA State Champions, we take pride in our tradition of discipline, teamwork, and artistic innovation.

Commitment to Excellence

Membership in the Blue Thunder begins with our summer Band Camp, where students build the foundation for the season. Throughout the fall, members develop leadership skills and physical endurance while performing a modern competitive show. This ensemble is open to all students, regardless of experience, who are ready to work hard and be part of a championship legacy.

Pep Band

Pep Band is a continuation of Marching Band, where students will apply musical and ensemble playing skills   to popular music, providing entertainment at home basketball games from November-February, as well as assemblies and pep rallies into the spring. Freshmen and sophomores who participated in Marching Band in the fall semester must continue with Pep Band during the spring semester.
